Quiet and unassuming, Astrelle is well-known as the daughter of a bookseller and his wife. While she uses the Rainier name, she is the heiress of House du Lac, and a recently legitimized bastard.House du Lac is a cadet house in service of House Durendaire, prompting Astrelle to act carefully around others, lest she dishonor her father's name or her mother's manners.Though it has been ever the goal of her parents to see Astrelle properly wedded and mothered, she had some ideas of her own and promptly left Ishgard the moment the City-State opened to trade with the rest of Eorzea after the end of The Dragonsong War. Traveling first to Limsa Lominsa, Astrelle settled into life as an Assessor and enjoyed her time away from social responsibility.Though the culture shock was jarring, Astrelle thrived and terrorized those who would see a little gil skimmed off the top of their deliveries, and not placed in the proper coffers. This would eventually find her into the unlikely friendship of Milloux Allard, who took the young Ishgardian woman under her wing and let her terrorize the wasteful staff of the Ashen Enclave. When the Enclave closed, Astrelle was adrift for some time. She joined Milloux again with the Tangled Boughs, after learning she was legitimized by her father.Currently, Astrelle serves as the coin mistress of the Tangled Boughs, a small organization located in The Shroud. While the bulk of the members seem to do their own good works, Astrelle is found often completing contracts and keeping businesses in the black with thorough accounting work.
